Guess What we did...

In the words of my almost 3 year old...
"Mommy, you and daddy made it snow the prettiest pinkaliscious snow I have ever seen."

All I can think about is getting my $400 + dollar utility bill going down...

Here's to hoping this works!

Renting this guy from Home Depot and 5 bags of insulation made this 2 man job a 2 hour cinch!
Seriously!!

The side of the machine has an internal box cutter.
It slices the plastic bag open on its own and all you do is hit the on button and grab the plastic bag!

Then the 100 ft. hose blows this pretty insulation into my less than adequate "R" rated insulation. And the layer is back where it needs to be!!

Just say no...

Anyone ever seen these?? Or maybe made them?

Or these??

Well, let me just tell you a funny little story as to why I am boycotting making some of my own. I guess you could say I had a "bad experience."

My Sophomore year in college 3 girlfriends and I were getting ready before a Christmas party. Everyone came over to my 100 year old house I was renting to "get ready."

The heat was on, the candles in the non-working fireplace were lit and the candles were wrapped in the most beautiful bark/ bark paper I had ever seen.

We had on the typical nostalgic christmas songs, were drinking egg nog and helping each other put on makeup.

A friend,Victoria, says "aww I love this song, chessstnutsss roasting.... on an open fire......" Then we noticed a cracking sound of a fireplace coming from the den.

We all acknowledged the sound and carried on with getting ready.

As we gathered our coats to leave I walked in the den to almost 3 foot flames emerging from the fire place.

Well, four college girls go frantic when someone, namely me... an overly dramatic Olivia De Havilland type, runs to grab a pitcher of water to begin extinguishing the flames emerging from the bark candles and the fireplace.

Ironic huh?

As I round one corner to poor water on the flames, Victoria, rounds the other corner and screams, "Flour will extinguish it!!"

Well ever wondered what flames, flour, and water make???

Vintage soot covered playdoh!!!!

Luckily the flames went out quickly, I had a homemade paste to get that fireplace as clean as it has ever been.

And most importantly, a lesson was learned!!!

The Grove, a belated birthday

My husband turned 26 back in September.

All he wanted for his birthday was either to tailgate with the tide or go see the tide play!

So that is just what we did. We hated we weren't able to go with some very dear friends, but Steph's grandmother went to be with Jesus Saturday morning. We will get to do it again some other time.

The past few times we have made it to Oxford we tried to meet up with some friends at their tent....but cell service is less than optimal soo... we planned ahead this time and I am so... glad we got to visit with them!

on the left is sister's best friend since preschool, middle, her big sis and right is momma.

I love these ladies dearly!!

This was my mom's first real sit back and relax tailgate experience. I think she enjoyed it!!
(miss you ainser, wish you had been there)

And just for fun...
Okay, they are sooo going to kill me for this but they look so much alike!!

EXACT same facial expression!!!

And somehow mom managed to get all the other pictures on her camera! I will have to get them from her!

The day was a blast and I am so glad we got to go and see the tide play! It was my first time in a stadium since 2007. Too long my friends... too long!

BTW... Roll Tide!

Baby Fever

I have been looking for "stylish blogs/people" who happen to have a great "wish-list" for all things baby.

Ever tried to google "hot- must-have baby items"

Doesn't always render chic and make life easier items than what was around 3 years ago when lil' bit was born.

Well, today I found it... Effortless Style!!

I have kinda blog stalked her all day long, shh dont tell...

check out her style board of all things baby...

go see everything else fab she is up to...

Might be trying some new DIY projects this next week compliments of some of her great tutorials!

Age 2.75 years

I have been meaning to do this post for quite some time! It seems when u start planning things life hits the fast forward button!!

I had originally planned to not do shirts this fall, but who am I kidding!! I missed it!!

Here are quite a few phone pics of us since our trip to Disney in August.

Proud of her new hot pink shoes!

Going to visit Grammy at work!

Please ignore the obscene cable cord... Ugh how I loathe that thing!

Going with a friend to the hospital to meet a baby brother!! (not ours.. Just yet)

Completely hamming!! She is obsessed with her Barbie sunglasses!

Let's be real, this baby girl is a complete ham!

And continuing to grown WAY too quickly!!

Her favorite phrases and sayings:
"mommy, do you want to hold my little baby fingers?"

"Will, wuke, or Lilly and Luke you are being bad! I need to put you in time out!"
"oh daddy, you really are my prince charming!"
"no, I big girl, I do it myself!!"
singing abc's and saying "mommy, join me!" so stinking funny!

Did I mention her hair has grown halfway down her back??
(again, my digital baby book so I can remember)

And we are officially wearing size 4t and some 4/5s she is soooo tall that if the cut is not skinny the pants will fall right off her.

Oh, and she just started wearing a size 7.5/8 shoe.

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we ventured about an hour away from home to go and pick our own pumpkins.

This place is very kid friendly and had alot for us to do!

We rode a tractor out to the pumpkin patch!

This little horse was the sweetest thing. When we would stop rubbing his snout he would paw at the fence for us to keep going. Adoreable!

Her recent obsession with horses was just increased! haha

It's A ....

I have been really bad about sharing baby content on the blog lately.

Mainly because I have been soooo busy as of late.

So without further adeau.....

(via pinterest)
I have started to make my way through all the pink and pack away.
(i secretly thought we would FOR SURE be having another girl so it was excitement and shock when we discovered it 's a boy!)

I found this banner on pinterest. I think I need to make it for when our little fella gets here!

We have started on the nursery and I hope to share some of it with you either today or tomorrow.
stay tuned for that!

I also have a pint-sized diva requesting a "once upon a time" party.
So we have started planning for that as well.

Hope we all start the week off on a good leg.
Happy Monday all!!

Humbled Again

Here I am, flirting the fine line of wanting what I do not need, and being sad/and happy something was taken from me.

All women dream of the day her prince charming will bow on one knee and vow his undying love to her and present the most beautiful sparking stone she has ever seen. It is her "symbol" to the world she is taken, and a "symbol" of his commitment to give her the finest of the world.

Well 4 LONG weeks ago my engagement ring went missing. At first, the blame was placed on our two year old. Then the denial it was missing, now that we have cleaned out every drawer, moved major appliances and even cleaned out the garage there are two assumptions. One, the ring was accidentally thrown away or the dog carried it into the yard. Or, two, someone broke in and stole it.

Unfortunately for me, the nightmare doesn't end there. I called our insurance company to find out my husband forgot to add the jewelry rider to our policy.

I wait a week and looked more.

I call back a second time and the lady mentions mysterious disappearance and loss. We proceed to file a claim only to discover our policy doesn't cover mysterious disappearance and the only hope of filing something is to file a stolen report with the police department and at that point, the policy then states the maximum amount awarded is $1,500.00 That doesn't even touch the original appraisal.

So, here I sit having the most pathetic pitty party I have ever had.

To be completely honest, weary is the best word to describe it.

I wonder why did it have to go missing, but then I keep telling myself this is happening for a reason.

I feel the lord is trying to teach me something here.

Best I can figure right now is he is "stripping" me of my worldly possessions and showing me the covenant Casey and I made with God is all that matters and the worldly representation is nothing but for show.

Right now I don't understand it...but I know I will... and when the lord reveals this lesson to me; you bet your bottom dollar I will be back to share.

Burlee's How to!!

Have you seen these guys??

Maybe in local home decor stores, boutiques?? and Pinterest??

They are adoreable... and surely with some craft paint, burlap and a short afternoon we could create our own... right??

So.. how do we make these cuties??

I am giving the tutorial on the football burlee!

First off, "Hi, my name is Jenny Beth and I like to make things as difficult as possible on myself. sO to save yourself the agony of painting this whole thing brown... BUY BROWN Burlap!!! Big Fat Duh JB!!"

so.. Step 1: Buy as much brown burlap as you will need, for one 1/2 a yard will suffice. I am making my mom some, and probably some pumpkins as well so I bought quite a bit.

Here are some of the "crafting" supplies you will need:
*a wide paintbrush
*skinny paintbrush (to fix the lines)
*paint in the colors you desire
*round sponge brush
*wire
*batting
*paint tray

I do apologize these tutorial pictures are via iphone but I have had several ppl around town ask me how I did mine... so here is how...

Step 2: Paint your design onto the "egg" shape. I did the brown first leaving an opening for the grey sides.

Step 3: Then use the round sponge brush to dot on top of the grey lines.

Freehand the football stitching at the top.

Step 4: Accent with your left over puffer paint you have laying around...

Step 5: There are two ways to adhere the front and back of the burlee. I chose to head to the sewing machine and zip along the edges with a straight stitch.

I have seen some at a crafts fair where they adhered with fabric glue.

**don't forget to leave an opening to "stuff" the burlee

Step 6: I made this first one super fast and in a hurry so I stuffed with craft/butcher paper. haha

The one's for sale in stores are filled with a loose bunch of pillow filling.

Step 7: Close the opening from where you stuffed.

Step 8:  Use a really wide wire from the craft store to poke a hole in the top two corners of the burlee. *Tie a little loop so the wire will not pull loose.

Step 9: Hang on your door and Enjoy!!

notice dogs and child in the background... ohh how I adore 3 little followers of EVERY step I make. :)

I am linking up over at Kellie's
