Destin 2012 Part 1

Finally I am getting around to posting these photo's!

We had a very busy and fun time at the beach!

The first day of vacation we headed to Presley's Lake near Mobile, AL.

The in laws joined us and we took the jet ski out!

The next morning we packed up and headed to Destin.

Some how I managed to not get any pictures while playing at the beach that day but I got plenty at dinner!

The girls were obsessed with the water

And the collection of the next few photo's is too funny to not include.

This is what it looks like to photograph a 3 yr old a 15 month old and a 4  month old.

HILARIOUS!!
Everyone walking by us was laughing and so were we.

So we gave up and played some more!
.
haha
.

And then our friends who joined us helped us wrangle the kiddos to head in for the evening. haha

be back later with the rest of the trip!

A First Birthday-client

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this client.
She is so fun and so full of life.
We always have a blast together.
(can't wait to show you the progress we are making in her super cute home!)

Her sweet girl recently turned one so we took the opportunity to plan an intimate outdoor soirre for family and friends to celebrate her first year of life.

5 months!!

Gracious heavens!!!
5 months... really?? one month shy of half a year already??

This baby is THE MOST laid back baby you have ever met. I can already tell he is going to be kind, patient, and such a people person.

This past month the dr put you on high calorie formula because you were staying at a consistent 13 pounds and from day to day even dropping quite a few ounces. It seemed after about 2 weeks on that stuff you gained 2 pounds and really began to take off.

Once we stopped the high cal we reintroduced baby food. you LOVE apples, pears and sweet potatoes. So far you have only had Earth's Best baby food. Once we switch your formula you finally moved up to size 2 diapers!
(this is the size I stock piled so glad to have you in this size)
(normally i think you look exactly like your daddy but in this picture you look a little like me!)

Let's see you have had a few baby mum-mums which you like and you have been drooling like CRAZY. Hopefully that little tooth you are working on will make his debut soon!

This sweet boy melts my heart every single time I look at him!

He changed sooo much in 5 months.

We love you c man!!

#PrayforTrey

I have tried to find the words to say, to ask, to share about this very special high schooler who lives in my community.

He is battling Pancreatic Cancer.

The lord is using this illness and battle through Trey's life in incredible ways.

He has had radio station's dedicate whole days to him.

How many secular radio stations take time out to bring awareness to a young boy's battle and have people call in and say.. #prayfortrey??

I can't remember any.

The video really speaks for itself and this is horrible, it's not fair. Cancer is ugly!!

But Trey has such an incredible outlook and knows the lord is using this in his life to bring glory to his kingdom.

If you would like to join me on twitter you can hashtag #prayfortrey.

If you will keep him and his family in your prayers in the coming months I know they would be ever so grateful!
There are so many prayer warriors  lifting him and his family, and the doctor's at MD Anderson, and St. Jude as we speak.

Join us and #prayfortrey.

The Evolution of a Room

I had so much fun the other day putting together the living room over the past 3 years so I thought I would do the same with our master bedroom.
Remember this post on our bedroom completion??

Well here is an official recap of where we started and where we are now.
Here is our home in Fall 2009.
bad iphone pic.
First thing I did was remove the mirror attached to the dresser.
And attempt to gather plates/accessories above the piece.

Then I painted the back wall with an iridescent trellis pattern.
This was just NOT doing it for me so after lots of inspiration pictures I convinced my husband to help me in painting our master bedroom popcorn Kernel by BM.

Ahh much better.
Then all we needed was some accessorizing.
Here she sits today.
Ahh so much better.

I am sure in our next home I will need to do some tweaking per that room but I am happy to say this room is complete with spring/summer bedding.
(For fall/ winter I hope to have my linen waterfall coverlet)

Thank yall so much for allowing me to "work my way" through this room and make it work best for me and my family!!

I will be sharing this before and after over at Thrifty Decor Chick. and KellysKorner.

We are showing our master bedrooms over at Kelly's!

Come see all the other fabulous before and afters!

Three Little Letters

The middle of last week my husband finished one of the longest years of our life together thus far.
After many many long hard hours of plugging away on the computer and studying harder than ever....

He passed his CPA exam!!

He is a CPA!!!!!

Soooo proud of him!!!

We celebrated with a week long vacation visiting his family and going to the incredible Gulf Coast.

Here is my cake with my inspiration.
Believe it or not I knew about this cake way way way before pinterest and just couldn't find the time to make it.
Here it is with his congrats banner.
And my picture I shared on instagram.

**I have been ALL about instagram lately. If you want to find me my name is LifeOnLyford.

Be back later with highlights from our trip.

Show us your Home:Living Room

This is my first time ever to link up with Kelly's Blog. Usually there are sooo many people linked up it is rather intimidating.
Needless to say I bit the bullet and decided to share our Living Room.
Plus... it is kinda fun to reflect on spaces as we are considering moving.

Here is our den a few months after moving in.
The drapes, artwork, everything was just a hair too dark for me.
And to be honest the couch is overpowering for this space. We knew we would not be in this home forever and this couch would be perfect in a playroom/movie room in a future home so we stuck it out.

So we did some tweeking and this is how our den looked in December 2010.
We finally decided to get some items to style the entry space.
Since this picture we have tried quite a few many rugs as well as switching out the main walls artwork.

Sometimes working with what you have can prove to be more challenging than you think!
I found a new lamp last fall for the entry so here is that space as of December 2011.
(what's my deal with december)

And here is the space with a bit more sophisitcation.
(Man I am soo ready for a "grown-up" couch for our living space in our next home)
And the other view of the room.

And finally here is how the room sits now. This is the actual photo on realtor.com
Just removed the rug and some accessories so potential buyers can see themselves in our space.

Thanks for letting me reflect!!
And head on over to Kelly's to see some really great rooms!

Master Bath "Officially" Complete

Oh it feels soooo good to get this bathroom done.
Sure there are things I would love to still do in here but if we move I figure I will save my energy for a room in the next house.
On the right wall is the toilet and stand up shower.
The toilet is behind this door.
Here is a close up of our regrouting work in the 70's tiled shower.
I still cant believe we were able to bring this back to life

Once the grout dried we were able to notice better where some tiles had been replaced over the years. oh well...
So proud of the final outcome!

*update: the sign is in the yard as of the beginning of this week. no showings yet but I am practicing keeping everything nice and tidy!
