One Room Challenge: The Big Girl Room Project

Its that time folks!!!

This will be my third project to link up with the one room challenge and this time I refused to bite off more than I could chew!!
soooo we are working on sisters room!!

Y'all.... this house was soooo special when we moved in, The door to the left leads into the room over the garage.

First and foremost is to make sure the passway into this room is open!
(thats where the design and monogramming action happens!)

Baby/guest room was the original intention of this space when we moved in 20 months ago. but... naps, me working etc... just didn't serve this space well. So we finally decided to move sister in here and she is soo excited to make this space hers!

Those mini blinds went stat upon move in!!

This room sat this way until we moved her into here last summer.
peach walls, grey carpet and blue light still intact!

This was her "we just moved" thrown together room.

It totally wasn't meshing!

So here we are with a totally blank space.

The plan is to use the same paint color and rug.
She ADORES them!!!
we are using a beloved lilly bedskirt and if we can find the duvet that too.
(its missing!!! wahhhh)

So I am keeping it simple and real easy this challenge!
Paint, a light, sheets, pillows, a desk, and some art.

Bam!!

Let's get started!!!

Can't wait to see all of the lovely spaces this round!!

Elementary Years "Big Girl Room"

Well... it happened, she said "Mommy, I still like ballerinas, but can we make my room fun and bright?"
I suppose its time. She is a glitter loving, bright colors, leopard wearing kindergartener.

I have had her help me every step of the way with picking out colors and making sure she is going to love what I pull together.

She had a fit over this Annie Selke fabric so this is our launching point!

Thinking this will be our #oneroomchallenge Room for this spring.

PS. we are slowly but surely finishing up the kitchen. It has mainly been because I couldn't make up my mind on several things.
Hope you all are thawing out as we are here!

A Tour of the Den

I have been busy busy sewing and bringing some color to this room.

There is still upholstry to be done on the bergere chair, a coffee table and a few more accents but I am happy to be at this point!

Do we remember what it looked like when we moved in 18m ago?

Can't wait to show you the project we have planned for this weekend!

Orc: Week 4 Do or Die

Yall.... this week of the ORC kicked my tail!!!
Ps dont forget to go check out everyone hosting the event! So much progress!
This past week....

We primed and primed and painted and painted, and removed hardware, and hardware grime and just wow.

Paint is soooo overwhelming.

So with the week that basically says get it together, its Do or Die.

So the kitchen island is sadly dying for now.

We just don't have time with the magnitude of cabinets we have to paint.

I spent two whole days on a goose chase finding the ideal foam rollers for priming and the proper purdy rollers for the finishing paint.

So here is where we currently are.

It's not where I want to be, but... its progress.

We did get the fan hung and the old light taken down.

And the vent hood is hunt but not wired in.

Just working like mad this next week and hope to have some exciting almost finished news!!

Join me and hop on over to orc and see how everyone else is doing!

A Den Facelift: a client project

This room had such great bones!

I had such a great time working with Ashley and I knew we would hit it off from the start!

Here is where we started:
Things spread too far apart, and blocking the flow into the room.

We drew several layouts and determined what would work best for the space and same day she had her husband helping her rearrange!

We still have some styling to do but just drapes, some pillows and new floors can TOTally change a space!

Take a look and see!

We grabbed a few of the family's favorite keepsakes to display on the stunning antique Chippendale plate rack!

Love the detailed and the hardware!

The rug was a pleasant gambled suprise even I was hesitant on but it totally took the cake!

Here is a full room shot!

Stay tuned for the grand finally fully styled!!
