My Prima Ballerina.

Okay for halloween we went uber practical.

You see, in the spring lil' bit will begin taking ballet lessons,
so i think to myself, "self, wouldn't it make sense to double this up for next spring?"

DUH!!

So that's just what we did.... I knew i wanted a super pouffy tutu
and the ones I was seeing I just didn't like.
note: I did NOT pose her for this...she is just this full of sassiness.
she was telling me "come mommy, skuhl!"

this picture is my favorite.

yes, she is wearing tap shoes, because... well she is almost 2 and we already had ballet slippers
and these make alot more noise. {Lucky me!!}

once we got to the fall festival the sugar overload began!
she and daddy did a great job at the games.
Waiting in line to ride the hayride.

we thought she would be sooo independant and ride without us.

Then she chickened out!!

feeding the animals.

she was soooo bold and fearless, just walked right up with food,
let the animals eat then she petted them!

We were amazed!!

Until......

She begged to ride the horsies!!

She hops on and realizes the man helping her isn't daddy....

insert mild toddler tantrum/mania attack..

Oh... daddy was standing on my other side!!!

I look at this picture and feel like she is 12!!!

Sorry it took me so long to record/takes me forever to blog somethings.

Short version... we live in a 1960's home with really old wiring.

After going back and forth with our internet provider several times

it was concluded we would pay around $500 to rewire the house for DSL.

Ummmm wrong... So unless we switch to Hughesnet {strongly considering}

I may still be a week or so behind on things... Gotta love taking 3 hours in 5 different settings just to get a very simple post up!!!!

Sentimental Sunday eh.. Monday

Cha Cha at Sit, Relax, and Read

is hosting a fun new linky party.

Well I have had a small project I have been working on to go along with my Sentimental Post.
Remember what my dining room used to look like?

Kinda boring, tan, and with alot of little furniture.
It was great,I loved knowing we were keeping it in the family and it was my Memaw's. (dad's mom's)

I really did love having it, that is until baby decided to start pulling on the corner cabinets.

they were top heavy and i just knew they were going to come crashing down on her.

so we dropped the leaves of the table, put it in the organized tool shed, turned antique collectors shop
guest house.

For a couple of days it set empty, then mom called saying I could have my Nanie and Paw Paw's dining room set (mom's parents)
REALLY??

The set had this beautifully carved china cabinet that I have always loved...

Swizzle SWEET!!
did i really just say that?? anyway moving on.

Well this got me thinking, how much i HATED the color of the dining room, it was the color when we bought the house... so I got my wheels turning.

Yall haven't seen the bathroom
{mainly because remodeling that room was put on hold when i got laid off}
but it is painted Notre Dame by Valspar.
here she is.
a perfect dusty grey, picks up on the gorgeous veins in the carerra marble countertop!!

Well I thought i wanted something blue but the color in my kitchen was
Robin's Egg Blue by Behr

Well... I could use the remaining paint from the blue and dump in a little grey and see what happens...

what do i have to loose??
a beige wall??

So I tested and FELL IN LOVE

Here is the paint with the new furniture.
Yeah, the fabric on the chairs is oh, screaming 1992 but this is where
we spent all the holidays of my childhood.

Aunts, uncles, cousins, both sets of grandparents, {Memaw came too}

I distinctly remember being about 8 and wearing white tights with
candy canes on them and snagging them on one of these chairs.

soooooo many memories of happy times from my childhood, and I am sooooo glad
I can create more memories around this table with my family!!!!

I also wanted to point out you can see the kitchen from this view.

Can you see the vast difference in color between the dining room and kitchen??

Don't worry though, we won't be leaving the kitchen this color for long...
{we are thinking of using Abbington Putty by Benjamin Moore}
Don't you just love the carving in the legs and spindles in the china cabinet??

Best part.. cabinet is holding all of my sewing/crafting supplies...

Now just to find some new chairs, maybe parson's chairs.

What do yall think??

And artwork...

botanicals?

mirrors?

All of this for $4.50, i will put some of it up, you see!

But the plate it will sit by my sink for now,
A measly $1.25 adding some spook and wOW!!

If my Walls could talk.

A couple of weeks ago we were doing some "cleaning up" around the house.

Since we do not have a home phone we thought we would eliminate the tacky phonejack faceplate.

Look what we discovered underneath.

If my walls could talk they would tell me a scary scary story of the 1960's.

Thought yall would enjoy seeing this.

can i just go ahead and say i am sooo ready to change this paint color!!! OVER IT!!

Pretties

I have recently found these photos and wanted to share.

Each one of them inspires me to keep going in our home...
holy canole is this room not amazing...

With a small facelift to the dining room and the screened in porch nearly painted I am finally seeing a little progress on some very large projects!
you have no idea how bad this makes me want to finish the porch....
we spend alot of time out there and I cant wait for it all to be sanded and white and "safe" for my family.
it still kinda reminds me of a dark dungeon right now. haha
would really love one of these antique baby scales to decorate in a nursery one day.
And just because i am in a "holiday-ish" mood I am probably going to make one of these for the door in my kitchen leading into the backyard, i mean hey... i already have some of these things laying around my house.

Hope each of you are having a great week.

I am in "Baby Shower Mode" and can't wait to share this fun party with yall over the weekend.

Nash.vegas

A couple weeks ago one of my mom's dear friends from Florida wanted to meet us for a fun weekend in Nashville!!

First place we met up was Loveless Cafe!!

Everything was sooo good, and the baby even ate well.

{why is it under 2 yr. olds never consistently eat well?}

We did some sight seeing before turning in, so we could gear up for a fun filled day!!

The next morning we met up to go to a fun craft's festival in a park near where my mom's friend's daughter lives.. (too confusing?)
AC calling to see if the girls were on their way to get us.
After she confirmed they were around the corner, we were all set!
Is she not the cutest thing you have EVER seen??

Sweet baby Dillion went with us and she was a show stopper.. everyone wanted to take a minute to love on her!

We left the crafts fair and headed to something I rarely get to do....

GO CRAZY IN A FABRIC STORE!!!

Look at all this fabric??

wonder what I am going to be making with what i bought?? make sure to check out my other blog...

isn't their inventory amazing??
only complaint I have with this store is their prices were anywhere from 2.50 to 3.00 higher than other stores. However, most of the fabrics they offered I had only seen online and I can rationalize the upcharge due to not having to ship and being able to actually touch the fabric!!
Here is my friend attempting to pose with baby girl.

Once we left there we went to Las Paletas Gourmet Popsicles.

It was a really neat tiny shop where you basically walk in and decide,{quickly} what you want and they grab it out of the freezer and you pay. They had everything from rose petal popsicles to cucumber. I mean everything... we played it safe and ordered watermelon, chocolate mint, and rocky road.
As you can see someone stole my ice cream bar!!
Every bite was amazing!! and well worth the $2.50 a piece.
Mom and her sweet friend!!

After watching the bama game and the florida game it was time for bed.

baby loved her snuggle time with grammy.
They look so much alike its scary!!

We ended our fun weekend with brunch at Noshville.

It was great!!!
