Purple Room Part 2

I wanted y'all to get a true feel for the room, so I used the video setting on my iphone to do a video tour of the room.

Notice the bedding isn't done yet??

Well look below... it is now;)

Be back later to share the deets on the curtains.
.
Let's just say a fellow blogger inspired the whole entire thing.
.
Like... I uhh kinda, well totally copy-cated. But to an extent isn't that what decor blogging is all about? Inspiring other ppl and their projects??

Well in this instance that is what I am telling myself;)

Ps. Damask fabric is Little House Lilac by Annette Tatum
Bedding is Shabby Chic line at Target.. =complete LOVE
Shams will eventually be made out of the damask fabric to incorporate the look a little more.
Wall color is a Valspar paint, I will go look it up for you!

Purple Room

Okay sooo when we "started" to do lil bit's big girl room we kinda skimped on a few things.
1. her walls were the color of her nursery
2. the bedding for the full size bed was twin size bedding
3. I only decorated with things already in the house

Once AC started talking she informed me she LURVED the color "purtle" aka purple.
well for the first few weeks of 2011 Casey was out of town with work and I promised her once he returned we would paint her walls.
.
Fast forward to June??

(taking me longer to do things these days)
The bedding is still no where near finished but we have worked on a few things.
before:
now:
no footboard, new wall color.
at closer look notice the janky bedskirt??
.
It is now much more pronounced since we removed the footboard from her room.
.
remember the vintage paper doll plates I made?
{over the bed}
.
I still love them but I felt the room needed more a pop.
.
For christmas I asked for the Barbie skectch calendar
{ have a slight obsession with barbie}
One day I decided to use the images from the calendar to frame over AC's bed.

Shortly after getting all of my favorite's framed I found this photo.
.
Apparently another decorator was inspired by this calendar too.

{via pinterest}

I also managed to find the postcards to put in some frames.

So I think we can consider this part 1 finished. The walls painted, wall decor figured out and tomorrow I will share the bedding and the curtains.

Oh.. and from the previous post I am sure you have noticed the reading nook is complete.

Dont forget to click to the next post and see how the curtains and bedding turned out.

Painting

Soo.... if you think about it today; say a little creativity prayer for me.
.
I am hoping to use this as my inspiration for the main focal point on the screened in porch.

hope to have a reveal for you guys sometime soon.

Anniversary Countdown

Usually I am not one to countdown to stuff.
.
Wait.. who are we kidding I countdown to everything.
.
With that being said the hub's is taking me on my dream date this friday night to celebrate 3 unbelievably fantastic years together.
I found this dress while still working at JCrew.
.
I am so glad I got the dress while I did because all colors are sold out now except for the black.
So I will wear this cute dress in white and we will head downtown for dinner at the Majestic Grill

Their food is divine!!

We will leave there; and after 5 years of knowing my husband; we will FINALLY watch Breakfast at Tiffany's together.

Our local theater does a summer movie series and the first movie starts this weekend.

I think one of my favorite things about our marriage is the give and take.
.
I watch baseball/softball during the week and when a series is on we catch that too.
.
Then you know we watch Sarah's House and he humors me by letting me read all of your lovely blogs to him and showing him your lovely homes.
.
You know.. the little things.. ;)

Better in white

So remember this post where I got way way too excited about these chairs my neighbor put at the curb.
.
Well now I am even more excited because those chairs have a fresh coat of high gloss white paint on them.
nice dingy color huh?

{can we talk about the bare spots in my grass in the background... they are making me nuts... i think its time to forget the seed and buy some dang sod!!}
ahh everything is better white!
these chairs were in perfect condition and just needing some love.
the second one was much more yellow than the first.

this one the cute corner pieces at the bottom fell off. i think i can repair all of them but this was the only thing wrong.
again, ahhh so much better.
I believe these chairs have found their rightful home at the end of my dining room table.

oh, and want to talk thrifting for this room??
mirrored piece.... retail $2200.00 bought direct @ warehouse $350.00
vintage chandelier retail $1200.00 bought on ebay $150.00
Table RH's version is around $1000.00 found mine at a local antiques mall $120.00

{china cabinet in the corner is being returned to my mom's tomorrow!! yippee, then we can start building our built-in china cabinets on either sides of the window!}

I think I  can get the hang of this thrifting deal.
And Free.99 works for me!!!

Heck, who are we kidding, I would have paid a pretty penny for these chairs.

Thanks Sylvia, keep the junk coming and I will keep bringing it back to life!!

I am linking up over @ Rhoda's for Thrifty Treasure's

iPhone dump

Soo I put up what I thought was a funny post about my highlights in my first year of teaching. The hubs said if he read a quote referencing his child he would be mad (sensitive maybe??) anywho I deleted it as to not offend someone.

With that being said we are on the road and I thought this would be a great time to share some pics.

My friend found this fab fabric at a garden ridge.

I recently enjoyed some Yolo from an adorable airstream truck.

I pulled some knock out roses from the garden.

Used my new icing mah- dealiebopper to make my friends bday cupcakes.

My baby is losing her baby face.

Has anyone followed me on twitter and wondered what this fabric is for?? Keep following on twitter for more clues leading up to the blog post.

This frame was in my neighbors trash pile so I dug it out, cleaned it up and painted it White... I'm thinking chalkboard middle.

Took some pics of my moms garden, she has been working extra hard out there this year.

Ready to help do a final brush of this pool so I can get in.

Here is another cute truck we saw on main street competing in a food network challenge where they travel from city to city and have different competitions. This is gourmet grilled cheese. YumO!

I started a small bed out front, need to dig up the rest of the grass and extend around the crepe Myrtle, probably will do that this weekend.

Here is a sneak peek of the fabrics on our porch. Sooo close to the end!!

Happy Friday all!

Introducing

I have waited much too long on the ole blog to introduce my sweet Lillie girl.
She is a pocket beagle, a smaller daintier version of our Luker boy.

Both of them are beagles. He is a 15" and she will barely be a 10"; in other words Luke weighs 35 pounds and on a heavy day she may weigh 12.

This is a bad video, mainly because it's naptime and Luke is barking but I wanted you to see just how tiny she is.

Lil' bit is beside herself!

Her favorite spot is curled up at daddy's feet.

She likes to help me on my projects.

She is a ham but we sure do love her.

Tiffany's Mini Blog Sale

Okay ... sooo let's face it.. I love ebay shopping I LOATHE ebay listing.
.
Doing a blog sale is sooo much easier.
.
With that being said we recently finished cleaning out my husband's closet.
.
In the very back I found a Tiffany & Co. Box.
Apparently his high school girlfriend really wanted him to have some "signature cuff links" for prom.

well for a few minutes he considered wearing them
.
But let's face it that just isn't his style. He is an oxford shirt and khaki's kind of guy and on the rare occasion he would need cuff links he will probably wear something basic.
.
That's just how he is...
.
I am seeing these on ebay listed anywhere from $108.00 to $225.00.
.
To "cut you a deal" I am only asking $75.00.
If you are interested in purchasing just leave a comment and say sold, and leave your email.
.
I will email you an invoice shortly and get them in the mail the next day...
