Look For Less: Clam Shell

Ever since I saw Sherry, at YHL use this clam shell as her fruit display in her kitchen I knew I needed one!
Here it is in their new kitchen!

Well I have seen quite a few of these guys popping up as the Nautical trend has seemed to really take flight!

Grandin Road $199 for the large

Ballard $129.00

Z Gallerie $59.95

I think I will stick with John and Sherry and go with Z Gallerie!

Everyone seems to be offering this item and the price range for virtually the exact same item is crazy!!

Hope to plant some orchids in here. We plan on picking on up on our trip to Atlanta in August!

Look For Less: Herringbone

As my baby boy will soon be transitioning into a toddler boy I have been rough draft planning what I would like for his big boy room.

One thing I have envisioned is this Serena and Lily Blanket.
Lawd have mercy on my sweet soul!!
Thats alot of money for a little fella to make a mess on...

That is until.... Target once again brought their A game!
Fiddy Dolla?? Yes Please!!

Can you tell the difference in the pattern?

I think this time I will take the Copy Cat Chic version!

Floor Lamp- Copy Cat Chic

Okay so the saga to find just the right pieces for our den continues. I think I find something then nah, doesn't work. Other than a rug we have been torn as to adding a floor lamp or a small table and lamp on the non-chaise side of the couch.

Ever since our trip to Atlanta this summer I have been in LOVE with things at Z Gallierie.
Everything is so chic and seems to be so well made so I start there as my launching point when I move on to the next items to complete this room.
That brings me here.

She would look Great in the spot in ? if you will.
But she costs $269.00
Which isn't horrible but I mean why not look for a little bit more reasonable right?
Yesterday I stopped in Kirkland's to peruse.
Usually I find very little in there that wows me.
But this guy....
Had such similar lines to the Mariposa lamp from Z Gallerie I thought about it....
Then I saw the price tag of $49.97!!!!

Heck yes I will.
Thinking of spray painting this beauty a gloss white!!

Have you found any copy cat deals lately??

My Secret Store

The town I live in has an incredible, one of a kind "warehouse" store.

Treasures like you will see no where else!!

I actually have been going here for about a year now and people around town act like it is no big deal. BUT let me tell you, to me... well, it is HUGE!!!
.
Take this lamp for example.

Outlet price:$45.00
Candelabra's price:$340.00

And this beauty came home with me.
Outlet price: $45.00
And this one doesn't seem to be a current style. I couldn't find a price for it online.

Gorgeous mirrored chandy.
Outlet price: $275.00
Candelabra Price:$622.00

I think you get the picture. This place is just incredible.

And from the picture below you can see they have way more than just beautiful lamps and ceiling fixtures. The furniture is to die for!!

And who is the lady in the pic?? That's my bargain/adventure friend Ash. That lady is up for a day trip with a discount price just about anyday. And she is funny to boot so it makes the adventure all the more fun!!

Can't wait to head back to the store soon to buy some more goodies.

Better in white

So remember this post where I got way way too excited about these chairs my neighbor put at the curb.
.
Well now I am even more excited because those chairs have a fresh coat of high gloss white paint on them.
nice dingy color huh?

{can we talk about the bare spots in my grass in the background... they are making me nuts... i think its time to forget the seed and buy some dang sod!!}
ahh everything is better white!
these chairs were in perfect condition and just needing some love.
the second one was much more yellow than the first.

this one the cute corner pieces at the bottom fell off. i think i can repair all of them but this was the only thing wrong.
again, ahhh so much better.
I believe these chairs have found their rightful home at the end of my dining room table.

oh, and want to talk thrifting for this room??
mirrored piece.... retail $2200.00 bought direct @ warehouse $350.00
vintage chandelier retail $1200.00 bought on ebay $150.00
Table RH's version is around $1000.00 found mine at a local antiques mall $120.00

{china cabinet in the corner is being returned to my mom's tomorrow!! yippee, then we can start building our built-in china cabinets on either sides of the window!}

I think I  can get the hang of this thrifting deal.
And Free.99 works for me!!!

Heck, who are we kidding, I would have paid a pretty penny for these chairs.

Thanks Sylvia, keep the junk coming and I will keep bringing it back to life!!

I am linking up over @ Rhoda's for Thrifty Treasure's

Copycat

When I knew I needed something bigger for the main wall in our den I was originally thinking a painting.
.
Then I saw this guy...
$319.00
homedecorators.com

Thanks to the wonderful Reichel @CopyCatChic she posted this and I was able to snag almost the same mirror for 49.95. (i think the style has changed because mine "foils" like shown in the picture above but the new "flatter" style is still available)

Chic find

So found this great little table in Ballard Designs spring catalog!!
I am needing something small and round to break up the modular lines in my den

While in the process of looking for this table I came across a new blog!!

*this girl has got such great taste!! Lemme tell ya!!

She found this exact table I had been looking for at Kohl's!!

Isn't it great!!! And here is the best part!

Not too bad paying $30.00 instead of $139.00!!

That's my chic find of the week!!
