A Mother's Day Treat

I thought I would take the weekend off and spend time with my kiddies, but before I do I wanted to share what we are doing for my mom for Mother's Day.

We commissioned a piece of artwork by a friend, she also happens to be an incredible artist!!

Meet Katie Toombs.

She is Amazing!!!
Not only is she an artist cranking out work right and left, but a mommy to 4 little ones!
I don't know how she does it.

Here is a sampling of a recent art show that was held this spring.

how precious is this painting?

*side story: Our church is making plans to try and move the original historic chapel from its original location onto the current church property. Katie is commissioning these pieces and a portion of the funds will go to restoring the chapel and getting it placed on current church property.

This is actually the actual painting we got for my mom!
I can't wait to give it to her this weekend!!

Thanks again Katie! We will share a picture once we get it hung!!

April in Review

We are starting the single digit countdown to baby. I have been sewing, cleaning, organizing and cleaning some more to get ready for baby.

C bear is 15 months old and still just 21 pounds!
His lack of heftiness is made up for in energy as determination! This little booger keeps me busy!!!

Here is a snapshot of our month in review!!

Having Dr. T check our ears and adenoids after our surgery.

Baby number 3 just growing away!!

Sister with her house at schoolbus at the preschool art show!
Afternoon snacks at target
This crazy fella has been quite the helper as we finish up working on the screened in porch!

So deep in thought to be 15 months old!

A Table for Six

One of the things I wanted to make sure we had before baby was more than 4 chairs around our table.

I spotted this chair at a local store a while back and have been watching it.

Doesn't match my other chairs perfectly but when I went in last weekend and they were on super clearance for $21.00 a piece I knew I could chalk paint them to match the table!!!

Can't wait to start the painting process!

One Tiny Ottoman at a Time

I am embarrassed to say it took me well over a year to find just the right fabric for this ottoman!

These two premier print fabrics go together so nicely!!

We love to snuggle up with the babies and read in this corner before naps and bedtime.

Sources:
Chair-ikea
side table-kohls
ottoman-had that thing Forevah!
The fabrics are premier fabrics prints.
I do not think the stripe is available any longer.
It was from a collection from 2012 I believe they retired to bring out some new collections.

Tablecloths and Styling: Wedding Edition

Just about this time last year a dear friend asked me to make some items for her wedding.

Of course I jumped at the opportunity.

Just wanted to walk down memory lane and show y'all how fun everything was.

Look at the precious sign she painted!
This was the entry table to the reception.
And the gift table!
Love how this fitted tablecloth turned out.
I will be making one of these cloths for myself one day in the near future.
A long view of the reception hall and food area.
Fringe burlap cloth for the groom's cake
Simple burlap runners for the reception tables!
 And the piece-de-resistance
The Wedding Cake Table.
It was so perfect and complimented her cake beautifully!
How fun was this tent??

Such a great wedding and I am so thankful the bride asked me to be apart of her special day.

Ps. I am now looking for an excuse to use her band just so I can enjoy a fun night of dancing again!
Seriously they had sooo much energy and they got Everyone on the dance floor!!

Happy (Almost) one year anniversary Candace and Michael.

Thanks again for letting me help with your special day!
And again how perfect was this???
