Easter 2014

This year my sweet mom made the kids Easter outfits.

I have her full creative freedom and only helped with lace selection.

While trying to get their picture I asked them to kiss on the cheek and they did this!
Crazy kiddos.
We held the annual family egg hunt and the adult hunt got angry.

My parents hide anything from a penny to 50.00 in eggs. Some eggs have a sliver of a paper saying you have a gc for free lunch or Starbucks etc.
it's SOOOOO fun!

My brother and I were ON it!!

Last year we found the "golden" egg with the 50.00, so brother and sister were out to level the playing field!
Such fun!
Poppy helping c find his eggs!
Baby napped while we hunted and c got some much needed attention! Haha

Hope you and yours had a lovely Easter with loved ones!!

I am almost done catching up on old posts so I can be back to blogging at real life speed!

Easter Recap

Was able to snatch a few quick pictures before we headed to church.
we hosted the dinner this year.
Last time we did this was 2010.
I think we will need a bigger house before we host again. haha

The flowers are compliments of Fresh Market.

Here is the side view of the room.
We were able to go and pick up my grandmother's hutch from my parent's this past week!
It fits perfectly in this space.

Everyone had a golden egg and some chocolate waiting on them at the table.

Here is my way way too big girl!
How is she this big???
It must stop! Time is passing way way too quickly.

And this little bug decided to grab the curling iron while we were getting ready.
Scared me to death and I think my horror and screaming scared him more than the tiny blister hurt him.
Did I mention my obsession with his curls?
And this was the best picture they let me get of the two of them.
Don't worry we will redress and try this picture again! haha

Everyone was greeted at the door with birds nests and cotton candy shirley temples.
(btw, this is a great way to distract company while you get everything on the table)
They enjoyed a sugar overload while I had plenty of room to assist hubby in the kitchen and get everything to the sideboard for serving.
This is a TOTAL copy cat of Dixie Delights cake from last year!

It was too cute and looked too yummy to not try!!
The $11.00 coconut cake was a hit!

please note the dermaplast on the table. haha. had to keep that boys hand doctored then let it breathe!

giddy about some hair clips!!

 Crazy babies!

And a last look at our Shirley Temples!
It was too fun watching my parents and children light up over something so simple!
Thank you pinterest and Dixie Delights for  your inspiration.

He rose to Save Us!!!!
It was my sin and your sin that held him there but he is Risen!!!
What a glorious thing to celebrate with the ones you love!!

Throw back Thursday Easter Edition

Thought it would be fun to flash back on the past four years.
Easter Sunday has always been a fun celebration at our house.

Easter 2009:
Baby girl was 5 months old and my sweet mom made her dress!

This year we did bath toys in her basket and she was actually really interested in them!

Easter 2010:
Again this year mom made baby girls dress withs ome vintage laces from her stash!
She changed so much this year!
The weather was really nice this year and we had a blast participating in all the egg hunts!

Somehow I managed to not get a picture of her basket this year but we just did something simple.
My parents bought her a chair and umbrella for the beach!
This year we hosted our first meal at our home.

Loved our table centerpiece!!

Easter 2011:
This was clearly our terrible two stage... can you tell?
My mom actually made this dress for my sister so we were able to wear another of our french handsewn gowns!
I love being able to share this tradition with her!

For the life of me I can not remember what we did for her easter basket.
This is why I make myself photograph!!!
This girl really began to notice the changes of spring and join mommy in soaking them in!

This year I made home made burlap placemats!
Loved them so much I made 2 more sets to give to a friend for a wedding gift!
Found a few cuties to stick out in the yard!

At times we were super happy! Especially after a successful egg hunt!

Easter 2012:
Last year we had a super fun easter!

Both babies wore things I found at high end consignment sales and we gave our grammy a sewing break!

Baby brother got some bath toys and his own pat the bunny book and sister got some coloring goodies and a swimsuit!
Somehow I managed to not photograph them on easter.... how I will never know!!!

See, this is why these throwbacks are good!
Helps me remember to Take My PICS!!!

We dined at my parents and had a wonderful meal!

Be back with a Good friday post and some easter decor.

An Egg Hunt

I am interrupting the desk series to bring you some easter goodness for the rest of the week!

About 2 weeks ago we got together with some other families in our neighborhood and held an Egg Hunt.

All the children had a blast!

This was our second year to do this Egg Hunt and it grew so much bigger this year than it was last!

Can't Wait to do it again!
