One Room Challenge: The Big Girl Room Project

Its that time folks!!!

This will be my third project to link up with the one room challenge and this time I refused to bite off more than I could chew!!
soooo we are working on sisters room!!

Y'all.... this house was soooo special when we moved in, The door to the left leads into the room over the garage.

First and foremost is to make sure the passway into this room is open!
(thats where the design and monogramming action happens!)

Baby/guest room was the original intention of this space when we moved in 20 months ago. but... naps, me working etc... just didn't serve this space well. So we finally decided to move sister in here and she is soo excited to make this space hers!

Those mini blinds went stat upon move in!!

This room sat this way until we moved her into here last summer.
peach walls, grey carpet and blue light still intact!

This was her "we just moved" thrown together room.

It totally wasn't meshing!

So here we are with a totally blank space.

The plan is to use the same paint color and rug.
She ADORES them!!!
we are using a beloved lilly bedskirt and if we can find the duvet that too.
(its missing!!! wahhhh)

So I am keeping it simple and real easy this challenge!
Paint, a light, sheets, pillows, a desk, and some art.

Bam!!

Let's get started!!!

Can't wait to see all of the lovely spaces this round!!

Southern meets contemporary coastal: a big boy room

Finally....having another room in the house almost complete feels pretty good!

My biggest problem with pulling these rooms together has been narrowing down my decisions!

There is just sooo much out there to choose from and I LOVE it all!!

So lets start with some inspiration pictures and then what we came up with!

(all of these images can be found in the Big boy Room album on my pinterest boards)

this little room has had quite the identity crisis with baby moving in and out.

We are still searching for a matching antique pineapple bed, the perfect accent pillow for the beds, and the perfect fabric to recover the lampshade in.

I know these items will come in due time!!

Little English

Y'all I just keep coming back to this line!

My friend amanda over at Dixie Delights did a series of dressing southern tots a while back

Not going to lie we love sweet classic clothes down here and I think it's high time I share my clothing loves with y'all!

For me, at the top of the list is Little English!

First their pimas are the absolute sweetest around!
I mean seriously have you ever seen cuter?

They also own a line called Travelin Trunk. We love their plain Jon Jon's for monogramming and their button up shirts for monogramming to layer under smocks and other Jon Jon's.

It has been great to be able to find coordinating pieces for big sister too!

Most southern towns are "stops" that they make with their warehouse sale, and for me its a must shop!!

Do you ever shop the warehouse sales??

Which Fall Coat is Best??? a belated post!

I had such a hard time picking out a coat this year.

Then finally... low and behold.

Lands END Brought it!

Looks like it is only left in pink plaid in Misses sizes and the raspberry pink in Womens.

Yall its amazingly warm, so comfortable and made my outfits look pulled together in no time!

I got the army green color and constantly get compliments on it!

The price was jsut right on sale for $59.99 and free ship!

Just thought I would share as all the winter end of season sales begin!

Elementary Years "Big Girl Room"

Well... it happened, she said "Mommy, I still like ballerinas, but can we make my room fun and bright?"
I suppose its time. She is a glitter loving, bright colors, leopard wearing kindergartener.

I have had her help me every step of the way with picking out colors and making sure she is going to love what I pull together.

She had a fit over this Annie Selke fabric so this is our launching point!

Thinking this will be our #oneroomchallenge Room for this spring.

PS. we are slowly but surely finishing up the kitchen. It has mainly been because I couldn't make up my mind on several things.
Hope you all are thawing out as we are here!

A Tour of the Den

I have been busy busy sewing and bringing some color to this room.

There is still upholstry to be done on the bergere chair, a coffee table and a few more accents but I am happy to be at this point!

Do we remember what it looked like when we moved in 18m ago?

Can't wait to show you the project we have planned for this weekend!

so long radio silence

I took a little break from the ole blog but it ended up being much longer than I originally planned.

We have been steadily plugging away at small projects around the house and I have been helping all sorts of clients beautify their spaces!

We had a wonderful holiday season and made so many memories.

The biggest thing I learned in 2014 is I was spreading myself way too thin between designing, projects, monogramming, room mom, and trying to be a parent to three with a husband who travels full time.

So hubby made a career move and we couldn't be happier to have him home more.

So be prepared to see lots of rooms come together much much faster!
c hasn't been impressed by the radio silence either! haha

glad to be back sweet friends!!

We made saltdough ornaments, gingerbread houses, we sang carols and read our favorite stories!

Thanksgiving and Dauphin Island

We had a great time shopping, eating and catching up with family in Alabama.

Yesterday we snuck away for Mimi to show us one of their favorite fishing spots. It was a hike with three little ones but such a blast!

Fun was had by all and we are glad to be home!!

Thankfully we decorated before we left so it's time to grab the wrapping paper, hot chocolate and start the Advent calendar tomorrow!
Oh.... And Roll Tide! Good game Auburn! Always is one of the best games of the season!!
